Festwave Institute
Description
Fabienne Colas Foundation
The Festwave Institute is a national initiative by the Fabienne Colas Foundation that supports Black and underrepresented creators in film and TV. By removing barriers to entrepreneurship, it offers training, tools, and networking to build lasting careers.
Festwave Institute, created by the Fabienne Colas Foundation, is dedicated to removing the barriers that stand in the way of underserved film and television professionals and supporting them in building successful, sustainable careers.
My role
Festwave Institute is one of the project-specific platforms I worked on for the Fabienne Colas Foundation, first as the foundation’s web administrator in 2025 and then as an independent consultant. The website had to present a national training initiative clearly to creators and industry professionals across Canada.
What I delivered
- WordPress development of the Festwave Institute website
- Webmastering: content integration, updates and technical maintenance
- SEO foundations: page structure, metadata and indexing, so the program can be found by the creators it serves
- Publication of program updates and calls for applications in coordination with the foundation’s team
- Performance and security follow-up as part of the foundation’s network of websites
For an initiative that exists to remove barriers, access to information matters: programs, eligibility criteria and opportunities have to be easy to find, read and share. Building Festwave alongside the foundation’s festival websites also kept the institute visually and technically consistent with the wider Fabienne Colas ecosystem.
